Will Harris is a fourth generation land steward and stockman, and he tends the same land that his great-grandfather settled in 1866.Born and raised on White Oak Pastures, Will attended the University of Georgia's School of Agriculture, where he learned Animal Science. After graduation he returned to Bluffton where he managed his monoculture of cattle using pesticides, hormones, fertilizers, and antibiotics for the next 20 years. These tools increased production, but Will became disenchanted with the excesses of these industrialized methods. In 1995, Will made the audacious decision to return to the farming methods his great-grandfather had used 130 years before.Since Will has successfully implemented these changes, he has been recognized all over the world as a leader in animal welfare and land regeneration, and rural community enrichment.Will lives on the farm and is the proud father of three daughters. Two of these daughters, and their spouses, live and work on the farm. His three grandchildren are the sixth generation of the Harris Family on the same farm.
