Read, create and maintain splicing schematics and diagrams, maintain control of outside plant (OSP) activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), taking and maintaining accurate splicing and field notes, support project timelines, and inspecting, designing and providing accurate reporting sheets for projects. Perform work in accordance with industry standards. Primarily work in new construction or retro builds however work can include maintenance as well as emergency repair/restorations.*This position requires field work which may include scheduled/non-scheduled overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24 Hour “On Call” readiness for Emergency Tickets*Essential Job Functions:-Splice fiber optic cables, primarily SM OS2 Loose Tube cable. Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing. Prepare and maintain splicing records, schematics and diagrams.-Understand OSP online database blueprint mapping and other Associated OSP blueprints. (Hardline Coax, Amplifier, LE and Power Supply locations; Fiber Optic Cables, Fiber Node Locations, Enclosure and signal pathway tracing, ect)-Read and follow design engineers instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.-Prepare engineering field notes. Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps and in the field with clarity and detail and make recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies.*Must hold a valid Driver’s License. with Clean driving record. Will also require driving HD Boom truck(s) and towing Fiber trailers.***Required to have annual drug screening as well as randomizes testing per drug-free workplace standards.
