The Centre for Industrial Rheology's decades of experience in rheological characterisations have supported R&D, Sales and Manufacturing teams with analysing, enhancing, ensuring and demonstrating product performance.From a secondary school entrepreneur flipping high-end shoes for profit to a Technical Sales Exec at a specialist rheology testing lab, my journey has been anything but conventional. It all began with a blend of curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit, sparked by friends' tales of substantial returns on in-demand footwear. This venture into the market or reselling high-end shoes wasn't just profitable; it was a classroom of its own, teaching me a plethora of lessons within the world of business.Very quickly, I realised there was a critical bottleneck in my operations: speed. These shoes were selling out in seconds, and I was lucky to get 1 pair each release. This realisation ignited a passion for software development, transforming from selling sneakers to developing bots that could automate the purchasing process. The challenge wasn't just about coding; it was about creating a solution that addressed a real-world problem underpinning my entrepreneurial endeavour’s. My bedroom-turned-warehouse, as well as the constant nagging from my parents after I replaced the family dinner table with a pile of shoe boxes, was a testament to this success.Fast forwarding a few years, this path has led me through a mosaic of projects, from offering freelance software solutions, launching and scaling a European subscription based information service, designing and developing software solutions within the energy sector in British Columbia, all the way to my current role at the Centre for Industrial Rheology. Here, I'm channelling all I've learned into propelling our vision; making rheology accessible and understandable for all.
