I work with small business owners to figure out what their businesses Can do and then How to get them there. For those I select as clients, my fees are paid out of the increase in profits that we will work together to realize, according to the rate schedule agreed to when we commence our collaboration. I am happy to be in a financial position such that I can donate my time during the evaluation phase of the project.While turn-around projects occasionally require an injection of capital, which I might help arrange or provide personally, please do not call me for a loan. If you can qualify to borrow money, you probably don't need my services. On the other hand, if you can't get a loan from your bank (or are afraid to ask) - we probably need to talk about that. The lack of sufficient capital in an on-going business is a Symptom of the problem, it is Never The Problem.

Collected homeowner dues, paid bills of the Home Owners Associations and negotiated on the HOA's behalf to purchase services from the wide range of vendors associated with property upkeep and maintenance.Prepared monthly reports of the financial picture of each Association in my portfolio which I delivered at Board meetings in person. Assisted in other duties as required by my clients such as supervising the collection activities of the agencies we hired for that purpose, enforcing the rights of the associations to be paid - even to the extent of foreclosure - and fielding numerous telephone calls and emails daily requesting my assistance with maintenance issues at the properties I managed. It was my first duty to be helpful to those calling, even if I had to tell them that the issue at hand was not the responsibility of the Homeowners Association but, in fact, was theirs.

Analysed the effectiveness of the systems, facilities and personnel of almost the entire spectrum of "small" business. Met with the owner at 8 am on Monday - by Wednesday at 3:45 pm he and I would have complete understanding of and agreement on the exact dollar amount that he was throwing away every month - due to his poor controls over the elements I had analysed. At 4 pm he would sign a contract, engaging the services of my company to fix said problems and I would be at a new client, in a new city by 8 am Thursday.

All of this was in the interest of determining: A) If it was possible for the business to show a profit and B) If it was, what needed to change. I "fired" many business owners from their own businesses and set them on track to actually making money at their job instead of - as they almost all had been doing prior to my arrival - Paying to do a job that they had little or no idea of How to do.

While I was a full time, non-traditional student, I ran the in-plant print shop for the College providing copying, offset printing, word processing and other ancillary services to the College community. I was instrumental in bringing improved, 24 hour accessible and individually accounted for copying to the campus. I also introduced a Macintosh computer for pre-press work (like Pagemaker) and new two-color offset printing capabilities to the print shop. I continued my work after earning my degree in the Spring of 1989.

My entree was my ability to install and instruct others on the uses of the computer in the "modern" office. I supervised a staff of three CSRs in handling the day to day challenges of servicing our clients. My position required State licensing in Property and Casualty Insurance, which I achieved on schedule.

Took over the day to day bookkeeping duties of this small, private school from a retiring "pencil and ledgers" bookkeeper for the purpose of moving the accounting for the enterprise onto a recently donated Wang, six station, computer system. Working with Headmaster Bob Nafie, I began by installing the General Ledger and completed the entire transition within the year, having installed and launched Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable prior to the end of my tenure.

Participated in an experimental program to sell business oriented computer systems (for Accounting and Client Relationship Management purposes) from within the consumer-oriented Computer Centers that Radio Shack opened throughout the Los Angeles area. I worked the "floor," handling whatever customers appeared during my shift and also worked areas of the cities nearby, knocking on the doors of businesses to discover and sell to potential business users. Toward the end of this project, I developed a clientele of companies who had purchased RS equipment and required my services to support its use in their business.
