I am an enthusiastic and highly versatile neuroscientist with extensive training and experience in translational biology. Broad background neural circuits, epilepsy, visual perception, optogenetics, in vivo imaging, and building advanced optical systems and microscopes. I also have significant experience designing and deploying efficient MATLAB and Python code for data acquisition and analysis. Looking for opportunities to use to skills to tackle fundamental biological questions that can unlock next-generation treatments that will significantly improve human mental healthcare. I am a strong team player who thrives in environments that allow me to address challenging problems with a variety of novel techniques. Overall, my research has focused on developing and applying novels tools for understanding a wide range of neural circuits phenomenology, from circuit mechanisms of hyperexcitability in epilepsy to cortical computations underlying visual perception. I have extensive experience in scientific communication, with 5 high-impact publications, 3 manuscripts currently in preparation, and numerous poster and oral presentations at local, national, and international conferences. I am a recipient of pre-doctoral and post-doctoral NIH NRSA (F31/F32) Individual Fellowship, written and received grants throughout my 10+ year career as a scientist, and have been a member of 2 international and multi-institution NIH/BRAIN Initiative collaborations (UF1, U19).
