Worked as part of a British Museum led expedition for two months to the site of Kurgus, an early Christian fort in a remote region of the Republic of Sudan. My responsibilities were varied and included the instruction and supervision of a team of up to 12 Sudanese workmen in the excavation of the site, the recording of upstanding structures and remains and assisting the surveying of large parts of the fortification with a Leica Total Station and 3D modelling software.
