I began my corporate career in the collections industry, initially working as a call center collections officer. In this role, I honed my communication and negotiation skills, learning to handle difficult conversations with tact and professionalism. My ability to resolve complex issues and recover outstanding debts efficiently led to an opportunity as a sub-contracting mercantile agent. Over the next five years, I developed a robust set of invaluable skills, including strategic planning, risk assessment, and client relationship management. This period solidified my standing in the finance industry and provided me with a strong foundation in financial operations and debt recovery.Although the lockdowns of 2020/2021 presented unprecedented challenges, it also presented a new opportunity, leading me to transition into the field of commercial property lending. In this new role, I supported brokers with loan submissions, leveraging my analytical skills to ensure accurate and timely processing of loan applications. This experience broadened my understanding of the lending process and introduced me to the intricacies of commercial finance.Building on this experience, I moved into a credit role with Liberty's motor credit team, where I have been able to further sharpen my analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. This position has allowed me to develop new industry-specific skills, such as credit risk analysis, financial statement interpretation, and regulatory compliance. Throughout my career, I have always enjoyed being challenged and thrive in busy, fast-paced environments. I find that these settings push me to perform at my best, constantly adapting and learning to meet new demands. The dynamic nature of the finance industry, with its ever-evolving challenges and opportunities, keeps me engaged and motivated. My journey has been one of continuous learning and adaptation, and I am excited to continue growing and contributing to the finance industry.
