About Will Jaynes

For around a decade, I have been building scalable, modern technology platforms for early stage startups with roles ranging from being part of a venture studio, to a founding team member. These diverse experiences have given me a unique perspective, balancing the breadth of responsibilities to drive success in the "zero-to-one" stage of the company. As the CTO of Entegrata I am focused on building a flexible, scalable and secure platform for law firms, solving intricate data challenges that have yet to be solved. My history with vast, complex data platforms, and flexible analytical solutions aligns with our vision. My experience in growing technical teams from zero through acquisition aligns with our needs. Before Entegrata, I have been involved in startups spanning a range of verticals. I was also part of a venture studio where I acted as an architect and advisor, helping bring startups that we incubated to an MVP and build their team and technical strategy. My expertise lies in leading engineering teams of various sizes and across various geos, building stable teams and innovative product solutions from scratch and architecting and implementing complex solutions on massive datasets with low latency and high consistency. My love for startups stems from my entrepreneurial spirit, and competitive drive to overcome challenges and succeed. As an engineer, I am deeply interested in cloud native technologies, the wide array of database solutions, scalable and efficient distributed systems and the unprecedented rise of “AI” related technologies. As a product minded leader, I am customer centric, always ensuring that each step taken has a direct correlated outcome that drives customer value.

Outreach is a leading sales execution platform created to be an end to end solution for sales teams to create more sales pipeline, and close it more effectively. After Canopy was acquired, we continued to build while converging with Outreach. Sample Highlights- Helped select and establish the office in Indianapolis- Scaled the team from 2 individual contributor engineers to 15 quickly, and effectively onboarded them and organized 4 teams with these individuals- Hired and onboarded two additional teams of 6 each (with managers) in India to support the Commit product- Led preparing the Canopy solution for enterprise scale while converging with Outreach’s platform, working with dozens of engineering squads to plan and execute this work- Led the architectural design and implementation of one of the most flexible and innovating forecasting solutions on the market at the time- Designed, architected, and helped implement a near-realtime analytics solution for Commit, and then evangelized it to all of Outreach, ultimately driving adoption of the designed framework for the Outreach analytics platform team- Led the adoption of a new database vendor for our near-realtime analytics tier, as well as our POC for several different options for selection- Led our core development tooling and experience team, along with all of our external vendor relationships that support that core team- Led our Backend Guild and the Backend Guild Elders. Effectively I led our performance reviews, calibrations, promo reviews, educational talks, architecture design reviews, and general office hours for all of our backend and infrastructure engineers- Acted as a liaison for our engineering teams to our IT, Privacy and Security teams for both Commit, and our Dev Tooling and Foundational teams- Helped evolve our incident management process with partners across several verticals- Helped evolve and solidify our release process with partners across several verticals

High Alpha is a Venture Studio that conceives, launches and scales innovative startups. I played a few roles at High Alpha over time. When I first joined, we started project to see if it could be a company, revolving around the concept of a personal CRM. This involved a small team of engineers building a scalable graph database solution and product delivery with minimum touch points. Ultimately we did not find that solution to be viable venture-backed company. Following that, I became a part of the first in-house engineering team at High Alpha. My responsibilities ranged from helping evaluate technical aspects of startups looking for capital, to helping our studio conceived companies architect and build their MVPs after launch, to helping hire founding members of said studio companies.Sample Highlights- Built a scalable graph database platform allowing for a constantly mutating graph, while maintaining uptime and sub second query performance across big data- Had the pleasure of mentoring folks about cloud native technologies (and graph databases) as well as organized technology meetups in Indianapolis with High Alpha- Participated in starting, scaling and supporting several startups (from a product and engineering standpoint) that are still going strong and scaling, some of which have been acquired

- I work to lead our technology stack forward, pushing boundaries and solving the big data aggregation and analytical challenge, as well as real time stream processing. - I work closely with other developers and I am in code every day. - I lead projects as well as help define future projects. - I work on side POC projects that can be brought into the product.- I work to debug large, system-level issues as they arise.- I help product make decisions from a technical standpoint. - I help mentor other developers at any time they need guidance.- I work in K8s (Kubernetes) every day in respect to ops work, deployments, and Docker pod management. These have been hosted in both GCE and AWS.- I have worked with a plethora of technologies from data stores, to UI frameworks. Some Highlights:- Architected and developed an Enterprise Security System layer in an existing architecture leveraging Titan Graph Database, backed by Cassandra, leaning on a micro-service architecture which is also when we made the move away from a monolithic design. - Architected and developed a Layers solution, to bring in customer data, and custom data. The system was meant to be extremely flexible and pluggable, and display much data on the screen at once. - Helped Architect and develop our ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) leveraging grpc and protocol buffers. The system is written in Golang for extreme throughput, and easy concurrency handling. We now use this as our main micro-service to micro-service communication. - Architected and developed a Data Gather solution for dynamic data gathering and transformation into a well known system type using traits that we could enrich per item that the system can use. - Implemented and scaled Ignite for a map reduce flow in Kubernetes to implement large queries across Cassandra concurrently.

Electrical And Software Developer / Partner Liaison

Epics (Engineering Projects In Community Service)

EPICS is a program where students from across Purdue in various majors come together as a team and take part in a project for some partner in the community. These projects range from simple solutions to things, to building an educational robotic arm (which is my current project). As of now, I am on a team with only one other person. My job is to debug circuits, wire, rewire, test servos, find voltage feedback solutions, and work along with my partner on coding the micro controller to support the servos for arm operation. This project is for Happy Hollow Elementary School and is meant to teach the children some simple anatomy, complex engineering, and teamwork. The arm has six controllers, one for each servo/joint, that the students have to use in teams to make the arm do basic functions.
