Hi, and thanks for checking in! I am the administrative director of Foundations Counseling Center, Inc., a mental health service private practice group based in Athens, AL. My responsibilities include managing Foundations' staff in non-clinical duties, billing and accounts management, community outreach and marketing, web design, payroll, and more for two practices. As an administrator, my primary objective is to ensure that each of Foundations' clients receive high quality care in an accessible and comfortable environment. With our practice being located in both a medically underserved and rural area of the South, I know that mental healthcare options for our clients can be few and far between. For that reason, I focus my work on improving the quality and availability of mental healthcare in north Alabama. Foundations' administrative team works to provide our clinical staff with comprehensive support so that they can simply focus on serving their clients well. Clinical psychology is my passion. Since 2021, I have been a part-time volunteer in research labs at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) so that I can be on the forefront of the field. My experiences in UAB's Youth Development lab and Disparities in Sleep and Circadian Rhythm (DiSC) lab have given me opportunities to participate in research design, data collection and analysis, and publication of original work. By attending and presenting at conferences, staying current on current publications, and working to create new knowledge, I hope that I can bring cutting edge information and techniques back to Foundations. Further, by doing my part to grow the field, I hope that clinicians the world over can benefit from UAB's world class research programs!I am working to earn a Masters in Clinical/Medical Social Work (MSW) from UAB starting in Fall of 2024. Social work is an opportunity for me to pursue clinical training by giving aid to the most vulnerable in society, something that resonates deeply with me. I look forward to working with a diverse array of people throughout my career, including the Spanish speaking population of AL.
