Hi! I'm Will. I'm an aspiring music educator, administrator, and musician based in Brooklyn, NYC. Currently, I'm completing my last year at NYU studying music education concentrating in Classical Piano, and finishing a semester of High School student teaching before I move on to an elementary placement. I hope to teach choral music in the New York City public school system and to apply progressive and updated teaching practice in the classroom to create a positive learning environment for each student and their individual needs for success. I believe that a supportive and caring music education drove me to become a better person and educator, and want to offer whatever I can to students that may help them in their journey of finding a path that works for them through a lens of music learning and musical development. For the 2021-2022 season, I am interning with Lincoln Center's Programming and Place team, hoping to learn from like-minded and inspiring individuals who see extensive need for change in the arts world, and feel confident in their dedication to executing those changes. I am committed to creating equitable and diverse spaces, dismantling and de-centering oppressive, racist, ableist, and otherwise othering structures which currently bar the Arts scene, in NYC and globally, from better serving communities and highlighting underrepresented artists and individuals. I am incredibly excited to do the work I've dreamed of doing since I was a teenager, and hope to lend my skills to bettering artistic spaces and ensuring holistic accessibility and equity among artists, advocates, concert-goers, and everyone in-between. I am the Music Director of the NYU Vocaholics, a competing and gender-inclusive a-cappella group committed to equity and success in the vocal arts world, of which I've been a member since my first year at NYU. We compete annually through the International Competition for Collegiate A-Cappella, and look forward to my last year and last opportunity to enjoy the hard work and high reward which competing in this space offers. In addition, I am proficient in guitar, ukulele, and piano, and am one of the members of my first band with my first friends, called Meyersville. Feel free to listen to our Spotify, linked in my bio. Thanks for reading! Have a great day. -Will
