I am a student at the University of Richmond Majoring Leadership Studies and Entrepreneurship. This past summer I had the opportunity to intern with Rhoback in their merchandising department. Before interning, I spent time working numerous roles at Rhoback including assisting the founders in moving the inventory from their basement to their warehouse, working as a fulfillment specialist and leading inventory management. My experience with Rhoback gave me an appreciation and an interest in entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurship spirit. I love working hard towards a goal, both long term or short term. This drive and discipline primarily derives from an injury I had that required 3 major surgeries and 27 months of physical therapy. What was once diagnosed as a 6 month injury snowballed into a longer and seemingly unsolvable problem. After 18 months, just before my third surgery I was told I’d never run again by one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country; however, I pushed forward. Through my work ethic and drive I was able to prove that diagnosis wrong. I now enjoy running and running sports on a regular basis without any issues. This is the work ethic and mental toughness I take with me every day. Personal relationships are the most important thing in my life. One of the best examples of this is my time at Strong Wings Adventure School. As a Group Leader, I led campers on bike rides up to 50 miles, facilitated high ropes course elements, and other adventure activities. However, my time at Strong Wings means so much to me not because of the things I’ve done there but the impact that leading those activities has had on my campers. Being able to lead and inspire my campers to achieve things they thought they never could do is so powerful and empowering for me. Helping my campers achieve their goals truly inspires me to be my best. I take such pride and purpose in their personal growth and being able to share that with them is such a privilege.At my core I take tremendous pride in my work ethic and working with people to achieve results that go beyond the sum of the parts. I believe that nothing rivals hard work and effort. I believe that relationships are the key to success. And I believe that when we can orchestrate solutions based on our goals where we prioritize relationships, hard work, and effort the sky's the limit.
