As Professional Development Manager at CSG West, I oversee the organization's suite of leadership training programs for elected state officials and nonpartisan legislative staff. These include the Western Legislative Academy, Legislative Service Agency and Research Director's Committee (LSA/RD), WESTrain, and Annual Legislative Training Assembly. Each fall, I also co-facilitate the Leadership Excellence for Nonpartisan Staff (LENS) program, an online initiative that I helped design and launch in 2023. In addition to managing CSG West's portfolio of training programs, I provide strategic guidance to the Executive Director as part of the Senior Management Team, support the CSG West Annual Meetings, engage with other regional and national leadership development programs, and serve as the liaison to the legislatures in Hawaii and Montana.

As a Program Associate in El Pomar Foundation’s Fellowship program, a two year leadership development experience facilitating direct interaction with non-profit, public and private sectors, I was a part of five different teams. I worked on the Communications team assisting with video production and the quarterly newsletter, with Fellowship Recruiting attending career fairs and facilitating events and interviews for prospective applicants, on the yearly non-profit Awards For Excellence program developing video collateral and interviewing honorees, supporting the Central Peaks regional council as they dispersed $200,000 of yearly funding across four counties, and with the annual Western Legislative Academy conference designed to bring early-career legislators together and promote bipartisan communication.

I provided in-kind support to the Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs as they sought to broaden their service footprint in downtown Colorado Springs. In this role, I assisted in community canvassing and communication campaigns to raise awareness for the services the Partnership provides as Colorado Springs prepared for continued economic and population growth.

I ran my own private tutoring practice for reading and writing. After beginning the practice in Tacoma, Washington, I worked with middle school and high school students in the Denver area. I have three years of formal tutoring experience which has included working with students with learning disabilities and ESL distinctions.

As a peer academic consultant, I provided one-on-one consultation for all the intangible skills associated with academic success. This included, but was not limited to: time management, organization, communication, study skills and reading comprehension. A large part of my job was working with repeat clients with learning disabilities to help overcome the difficulties presented by a college education. I also had the opportunity to conduct IRB-approved institutional research on the academic consulting program and present my findings at the National Conference for Peer Tutoring in Writing.

As a writing advisor, I held six appointment hours per week open to students of any discipline and at any point in the writing process. Another component of my position was working collaboratively with several freshman seminar classes per semester to run writing workshops and hold drop in tutoring sessions to help acclimate first-year students to college writing. Beginning my second year in the position, I served as a foreign language partner with several English as a Second Language (ESL) students to help rectify the challenges of applying multilingualism to academic English writing.

I worked as an orientation leader in Puget Sound's new student orientation program ("Passages") for two sessions. I participated in two rounds of week-long training that covered a range of topics from facilitating difficult discussions around pertinent issues of college life to responding to emergency situations in the back-country. When the students arrived, I led multi-day outdoor trips in Olympic National Park (two backpacking and one canoeing). As a requirement for the position, I earned a CPR and Wilderness First Aid certification, and participated in Puget Sound's Outdoor Leadership Experience.

Greater Denver Area

I worked as a DSST Public Schools Summer Fellow for two summers, returning as a Senior Fellow my second year. Through the program, I worked with DSST Byers Summer Academy as an assistant teacher in STEM and literacy classrooms. As a senior fellow, I supervised a cohort of ten other fellows and helped to plan for whole-group lessons and activities. A final component to the program was intensive professional development sessions around educational practices and inequities both generally and specific to the Denver area.

I graduated in 3.5 years, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor's of Arts with a major in Comparative Politics and Government with honors and a minor.

I spent the Spring 2019 semester living and learning in Rabat, Morocco. Through the program, I undertook intensive beginning Arabic.
