Over the summer of 2021, I collected data on how competitive state elections in Missouri were. Using official election results from the Secretary of State’s website, I sorted each state general and primary election between 2016 and 2020 into different categories based on their competitiveness. Our results showed the majority of state elections in Missouri to not be competitive with the current winner-take-all system.

As a part of a data-based political science course, a group of students and I conducted an online survey about opinions regarding abortion. For the survey we devised our own questions and drew conclusions from the data collected from 602 respondents. We set out to find out whether the presence or lack of sexual education affected citizens opinion on abortion.
