At the time Iridian held the global patent for iris recognition. I was the presales lead for all Iridian’s projects within the region. My role involved working closely with the internal sales team, external partners and customers to aid the sales process. Partners ranged from small highly-focussed local integrators through to large blue chip corporations. My role was to act as the bridge between the technical team in the United States and the sales teams and partners throughout EMEA, taking the lead with responses to RFI/RFP’s for projects ranging from 5,000 to 100m records. The position called for an excellent technical understanding of the product and its supporting infrastructure, alongside the ability to discuss projects at a service and commercial level in order to help build new business within EMEA.

I started with ISL as 2nd Line Technical Support and as the company rapidly grew I was quickly promoted to the position of Product Manager for SentriNET, the organization’s flagship product. Approximately one year later, I was promoted to become QA Testing Manager where my role involved heading up the QA testing department. I had direct responsibility for two employees and implemented a QA testing strategy from the ground up using industry best practice and technology. In 2004 I was promoted to a presales position where I had direct responsibility for all technical input into the sales and business development process. It was my passion and interest for this presales position that set the path for my career to-date.
