Blue Back Square is a 650,000 s.f. mixed use (Retail, Office, Medical, Condo and Apartments) complex that opened in November, 2007. Blue Back Square is one of the first redevelopments in the U.S. of a 22 acre site for mixed-use properties in a Town Hall setting. The redevelopment required involvement with the town of West Hartford in the bonding of the public improvments and the implementation of a Special Services District. Redevelopment included improvements to the Town Hall, Library, Board of Education, Police Station and off-site areas. I sat on Executive Boards for: West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, The Heritage Condominiums, and was commissioner for the West Hartford Special Services District.Property was purchased by Starwood Capital in April 2013.
