Worked with Ayesha Wilson and other supporters to design and implement a winning strategy for Cambridge School Committee. In 2019, Ms. Wilson won a seat with 2,692 #1 votes. In 2021, she topped the ticket with 4,184 #1 votes, more than 1,000 above the second-place finisher and more than any candidate for Cambridge municipal office since 1989.

-Compiled and validated data on land use, zoning, food access, and other topics to support MassINC’s research agenda.-Completed and presented GIS analyses for MassINC partner organizations, including research on PPE manufacturers located in Qualified Opportunity Zones and analysis of the racial demographics of transit station areas.-Supported other.

Managed a progressive campaign for State Representative in Arlington, Belmont, and Cambridge. Despite being outspent 5-to-1, Jen Fries earned 5,950 votes (43.9%), more total votes than any other candidate challenging an incumbent State Rep in a Massachusetts primary in the past 20 years.Field: Designed and executed remote voter contact plan and managed.

Managed finances for HSHS, including by managing contracts with local and state funders, developing budgets for HSHS and each of its constituent programs, and coordinating fundraising efforts.

With another director, implemented HSHS programming for 24-29 clients, including food and supply requests, bed lotteries, conflict de-escalation, storage requests, data collection for the Cambridge Homeless Management Information System and MHSA, and other operations.

Support staff implementation of each aspect of our mission and model, including by scheduling shifts for thirty-three staff members, chairing the shelter Policy board, organizing and facilitating training, recruiting staff, supporting staff mental health, and providing operational support to each other student director. Managed physical plant, including health and fire code compliance, volunteer and staff maintenance training, general maintenance, and relationships with the shelter’s landlord. Produced a report on the history of Cambridge’s zoning ordinance, with special focus on public justifications for zoning and on correlations between zoning and segregation. This report was published by the Mayor’s office in October 2019.Developed ArcGIS shapefiles indicating the plurality zoning designation in each census tract and block group to allow.

Prepared the shop for business by preparing frozen yogurt, cutting fruit, and managing the cash register; served customers; and trained newly hired employees and newly promoted managers to be effective in their roles.

Worked in each of FFF’s programs, including two focused on school nutrition (Weekend Backpack and School Markets).Rescued food from supermarkets, farmers markets, universities, the Greater Boston Food Bank, and other sources and distributed it to agencies across Boston, Cambridge, and the northern metro area.
