Design approval of fire protection, LSA, load line, pilot boarding and bridge arrangements for a wide range of ship types, such as chemical tankers including an orange juice carriers, crude oil and product tankers from small bunker tankers, aframax, panamax to VLCCs, bulk carriers from handysize to capesize and VLOCs, container ships from 150teu feeders to 6800teu post-panamax capacity, LNG & LPG carriers, ro-ro cargo ships, general cargo / multi-purpose ships, escort tugs, anchor handling tugs, offshore supply vessels, dredgers, work boats, motor yachts, cargo transfer pontoons, fall-pipe rock dumper vessels, research vessels, passenger ships, floating docks, self-unloading propelled barges and cable layers. Leading the Shanghai Plan Approval fire & safety section and ensuring the overall standard and volume of work output for the section. Issuing survey instructions to surveyors and advising shipyards and owners on issues related to carriage of dangerous goods and other hazardous cargoes on ships.Pre-site project manager for a series of handymax 37,5k dwt bulk carriers being built for Greek and Croatian owners in a Shipyard on the Yangtze river near Jiangyin. Responsible for managing the overall plan approval process for the project ensuring timely return of plans. Acting as point of contact for the owner, liaising between ship owner, designer and shipyard to overcome any design issues that arise. Carrying out third party certification (Type Approval) services of fire protection products for China based clients on behalf of Lloyd's Register Verification.Giving training presentations on SOLAS, carriage of dangerous goods, structural fire protection, type approval and EC/MED product certification to delegates on the statutory survey course and graduate training course.
