Our business was an automotive retail operation catering to the local community. We specialized in vehicle personalization by installing everything from lift kits, wheel and tire packages, spray in bedliners, window tint, pinstriping and a multitude of other vehicle performance and cosmetic customizations.We did conversion packages for several of the local dealerships so they could offer packaged, pre-built vehicles to their customers with the ability to finance the complete package for the customer. In addition to complete packages, we did smaller jobs for the local dealers including Katzkin leather conversions for vehicles that weren't offered with leather package option from certain manufacturers.Throughout the years we eventually turned to buying, customizing, restoring and custom building Jeep vehicles that were either customer specific, or builds that we completed with intentions of selling.All of this provided a first hand education in business management, budgeting, team building and team management in a real world situation where success depended solely on these skills. Communication skills were honed as well as the ability to work with all walks of life from the customer base. Whether it was other business owners or individuals off the street, cooperative endeavors for projects where multiple entities were involved I learned how to read situations as well as people and that alone has helped me more times than I can count in life.. From my experience as a business owner I learned how to budget and feel very fortunate to have been able to experience business ownership at a young age, it certainly helped shape my business and life outlook.
