Five years of experience working with a small, dynamic team to develop, test, and market a novel atomic force microscope (AFM) which can take spectroscopic data through a technique called Photo-induced Force Microscopy (PiFM). Worked with the AFM and associated equipment for experiments, such as lasers, optics, and various electronics to look at samples and run experiments related to the fundamental science of PiFM or questions about instrument functionality.Extensive experience in designing experiments, taking data, and creating and presenting reports to share said data.

Building a prototype adaptive optics instrument for the KaPAO project under Prof. Philip Choi. Developed techniques and tools for precise optical alignment; built physical instrument from ground up. Wrote tools in IDL to analyze instrument performance. Also designed and taught a summer course in Solidworks for high school students, centered around modeling several peripheral components for the adaptive optics instrument.

Helped develop "blotting" and "stamping" techniques in Prof. Alfred Kwok's laboratory. Also assisted in building and testing several freshman labs; involved some machining and electronics.

Worked for Prof. Alma Zook operating the 1-meter telescope at Table Mountain Observatory. Processed current and back-logged data using IRAF image analysis package. Also designed and wrote AWK/AWP scripts to streamline and automate image processing.
