About Will Ott

It is currently December 2024 and I am just now seeking to find a new role after moving to Colorado and establishing residency here as of 11/2024 on my Colorado drivers license. I am only open to Denver / other areas of Denver (Englewood, Littleton, etc.) or Colorado Springs. Also of course am open to fully remote roles. As a longterm professional Claims Adjuster dating back to 2014 in the insurance industry with a vast array of experience, I am now seeking a new opportunity after my most recent successful experience as a Homeowners/Property Claims Adjuster with AAA, "ACG" The Auto Club Group, through Insure National while I was living in Tampa, Florida. I needed to move back to Colorado permanently, and now am here.My claims license is active in good-standing with CE Credits. My Florida Professional Claims Adjuster "PCA" designation allows me to hold reciprocals in any state. It also allows an easy conversion of my claims license to a designated home state license. Fingerprints are valid.QUALIFICATIONSI obtained my college degree in 2011, and I have a number of years of corporate administrative experience in multiple areas: over seven years Property & Casualty insurance claims including homeowners claims both represented by attorneys and non-represented; auto liability and bodily injury adjusting/negotiations with insureds and/or attorneys; auto claims personal injury protection (PIP) adjusting including wage loss benefit claims; two years P&C insurance sales; and HR employer benefits system administration and services. Every role involved attention to detail, accuracy, and high standards for customer service contact via phone, email and in-person. The classes I attended in college strengthened my academic and professional ability, and this coupled with my years in a professional corporate environment gives me confidence in my ability to contribute to the success of any organization.

Listed skills include Risk Analysis, Underwriting, Credit Analysis, Customer Service, and 11 others.

Claims Adjuster: Staff Property/Homeowners Desk Adjuster (Remote)

Upc Insurance

Remote

Employed: February 8, 2021 – September 21, 2022; For the time in-between this role and my roles with Progressive, I had the chance to travel the country (and during that time, the pandemic began as well).Reason for leaving: UPC Insurance had an incredible claims organization and I gained very valuable claims experience, but their CAT-based underwriting portfolio after 23 years finally was deeply impacted by the increasingly severe storms in recent years. The company's vision: "To be the premier provider of property insurance in catastrophe-exposed areas" proved to be an extremely difficult portfolio for their bottom line/net income, and the company announced an "orderly-runoff" of their HO policies. I respectfully resigned, and the managers supported staff adjusters to do so.Duties: High volume multi-state homeowners claims adjuster; handled both PA/Attorney represented and non-represented homeowners claim files; inside permanently remote desk role working all claims from beginning of assignment to the resolution while contacting, updating and coordinating with insureds, Public Adjusters, Attorneys and mediation, releases, etc., field adjusters, contractors; mitigation vendors, agents, and others; analyzes and notates entire claim files interpreting policy coverages for many loss categories and making final coverage decisions investigating cause of loss, and issuing final payments; writes and/or collaborates on estimates; recognizes and refers files to SIU and also UW risks, subrogation, and denials; complied with the multi-state legal, statutory and regulatory requirements; adjusts reserves and investigates appropriate coverage lines available on policies and their endorsements; investigates and notates all data to support any claimed loss; utilizes numerous office software platforms including estimating software (Katana Claims System, Xactimate, Xactanalysis, and others), Microsoft Office Suite, and many other web-based systems
