I have over 7years experience as an engineering consultant in the Northern Territory of Australia, and 2years experience in the estimating department of a mechanical contracting and maintenance company in Dublin, Ireland My main areas of expertise are the design of low voltage power distribution systems, electrical switchboard design, artificial lighting systems, emergency lighting systems, fire detection systems, occupancy warning and intercom systems, electronic security and access control systems, telecommunications systems, lightning protection and earthing systems and master antennae television systems.Over the years as a consultant engineer, I have gained particular expertise in the design of specialist sports lighting systems for motorsports facilities, ball sports facilities and indoor sporting facilities. I have extensive experience in lighting design software modelling and simulation for all scenarios.I have an abundance of experience in both traditional ‘design and document’ style contracts and ‘design and construct’ style contracts and am comfortable working with architects, builders and electrical contractors.

My responsibilities included carrying out max demand calculations and cable sizing, selecting and designing lighting and emergency lighting systems, designing and documenting fire detection systems, designing communications systems and communications racks layouts.I was electrical team leader on numerous NT government projects ranging from a multi-building special care primary school to three field sports facility with grandstand, sports lighting, administration building and broadcast capabilities.I was the main point of contact for these projects and my role increased to include attendance at design meetings and correspondence with clients and design team members. My role was to action any items arising from meetings and/or site inspections and advise other disciplines of electrical requirements.
