I led the investment strategy team for Asia based in Hong Kong. The team focussed on providing advice on portfolio construction and risk measurement using asset liability modelling and risk budgeting techniques. Clients included retirement schemes, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds.

As head of our UK Investment Strategy (advisory) team for London and Reigate, I worked with some of the largest pension funds in the UK. My role continually expanded with new ideas and products being developed. For example, I have advised on / structured a range of dynamic de-risking frameworks, derivative based protection strategies and covenant sensitive investment strategies.As well as the day job as a consultant and team leader, I was also on a number of different steering groups:- Led the design / concept of the investment risk monitoring functionality which has now been built into our flag-ship on-line monitoring tool.- Developed the investment proposition to help clients understand the benefits, or otherwise, of hedging longevity risk and how to hedge this risk.- Worked with scheme actuaries to help them give clear and appropriate investment advice for our smaller pension fund clients in an low cost / efficient way.
