About Will Rees
I am a communications specialist with over seven years of experience in 'in-house' communications, marketing and engagement for the third sector in Wales. I am proud to have developed my career around telling local stories, engaging communities and bringing together stakeholders. I am #CardiffTrained holding a Master's in PR & Communications Management from JOMEC (Cardiff University).Copywriting, research and engagement are at the heart of what I do. I thrive on working within organisations who break down silos and embed comms into everything they do.After several years as a communications officer, I am now hungry to take the next step in my career and move into a senior/principal officer/manager role, bringing with me my strong leadership, interpersonal and organisational skills. Away from work, I am married to my wife Vivienne and we have two sons: Tomos and Patric. I'm originally from Pembrokeshire but now live in Bedwas, Caerphilly. I have recently stepped away from volunteering at my local rugby club, Bedwas RFC after five years as a director. Nevertheless, I remain a fan and am also a big fan of snooker and horse racing. I am fluent in Welsh and have a good command of French. I am also passionate about history (my undergraduate degree is in War Studies) specifically sporting, Welsh, military/naval and ancient histories. I would one day love to pursue a PhD in a field relating to history.
Listed skills include History, Public Relations, Strategic Communications, Corporate Communications, and 15 others.
