I select the poetry for the print edition published early each spring and for the on-line edition each midsummer. I also choose the "Cutthroat Discovery Poet" for each issue, a promising poet who's not yet published a full-length collection. We go each year to AWP to promote the magazine and usually, in addition to making new connections, we're involved in at least one panel and various readings there as well.

Taught graduate and undergraduate creative writing workshops (mostly poetry, some short fiction), 20th Century Native American Lit, Global 20th Century Poetry in Translation, Global 20th Century Poetry Written in English [poets of Africa, India, Australia, UK, Canada etc], 20th Century Political Poetry, etc.

From 1976-1982, poet Richard Hugo took frequent leaves and always requested that I be hired to teach his creative writing workshops. When he passed on I was hired full-time 1983-86.
