I fulfill orders by picking various furniture parts and preparing them to be sent to our assembly warehouse. I also unload 40 foot shipping containers 3-5 times a week. I earned my forklift license in January 2024.

I was brought on to pioneer a naturalist program within the confines of a retail operation. My roles were to produce a monthly newsletter, offer monthly programs, and answer customer questions. In addition to my naturalist role, I was also on the floor selling product, stocking, unloading bird seed deliveries, and designing floor displays.In total I had over 200 people attend my programs over the course of the year. I offered both in-store programs such as bird feeder building workshops, birding 101, and bird natural history as well as programs out in the community. These outings highlighted the great birding spots of Evansville and the nearby area.During spring migration I offered a weekly birding outing at 4 different local hotspots. One of my proudest projects was working with Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, home to the country's largest tract of urban virgin forest. We worked with staff, volunteers, and local partners to redesign their wildlife observation area. I provided consultation on optimizing their bird feeding stations and coordinated the donation of over $1,000 of new bird feeding equipment and food. Once the consultation was completed, I worked with park volunteers to install the new equipment and trained them on proper feeding procedures.

Indianapolis, Indiana Area

As an Interpretive Naturalist, my duties range from planning and presenting education programs to park visitors, nature center maintenance, helping to plan and execute special events, and taking care of the nature center animals.

My responsibilities included; greeting customers as they entered the store, answering their questions and offering my recommendations, getting the customer a fitting room, and ringing up their purchases. I also worked on visual displays for the store, participated in reorganizing the store and keeping the merchandise folded and neat.

As a Camp Counselor, I would plan and present environmental education lessons to campers aging from 4-12 years old. In addition, I would also plan activities and hikes to coordinate with the lessons to enhance learning. Other responsibilities included; preparing snack, giving parents reports on their child, and organizing crafts for the campers.
