I started my career on the ground floor, working my way up in both position and responsibility through hard work and continuing professional development. Throughout my time at Motor Trend we've had several organizational shake-ups, but I was kept on through each one due to my exemplary performance and "can-do" attitude. I’ve always had a reputation for getting the job done, even with seemingly insurmountable obstacles in my way. I am doggedly resourceful and take pride in developing clever and innovative ways to overcome project challenges. One of my most challenging projects, and biggest accomplishments in this role, was quickly creating a 9-person helpdesk support team after a sudden strategy shift eliminated our contract helpdesk. The company found itself without IT support (not an ideal situation AT ALL). I teamed up with my supervisor and took the lead in development of a strategy for moving forward. We quickly executed my plan, ultimately saving the company $120K annually and ensuring continuous coverage for customers. Crisis averted.For me this role is about more than technical difficulties…it's about people. I focus on cultivating an atmosphere of collaboration and cooperation, putting forth extra effort toward maintaining positive relationships throughout the organization. These relationships allow me to keep a pulse on the overall needs of the organization and contribute ideas for improvement. My success in this role has resulted in increased management responsibilities, with my team's unprecedented productivity and efficacy proof of my management abilities. I believe that a manager's responsibility is elevating his team and empowering them to take on more responsibility and increase their contribution to the company. Working together is always preferable to working alone or in competition with each other. Together with my team I look forward to many more successful projects and organizational growth.

After working as a senior network hardware support technician for Defense Logistics Agency and deepening my IT expertise, I was welcomed at Halifax as a technician and quickly advanced to the lead position. My previous success and experience equipped me to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and peripheral problems for our largest client, 7-Eleven.Working here was exciting and a good fit for my energetic personality. My territory was fairly large and I traveled quite a bit, affording me the opportunity to interface with a diverse group of people across the company.My daily responsibilities included deliver, setup, configuration and troubleshooting of end-user computer hardware and software. I coached junior technicians and stepped in whenever I was needed on a project outside the scope of my normal duties. My willingess to go above and beyond for the customer and expand my role for my team earned me a reputation as the “go-to guy” when projects needed rescuing or challenges needed solutions. The skills I learned in this role proved invaluable to me as I moved through increasing responsibilities in my next role and took on management-level tasks.
