My grandmother would tell my sister and I stories from the Bible and then ask us to cut pieces of cloth fabric in a pattern that resembled the Biblical characters. My sister and I were amazed as she used a needle and thread, as well as an old Singer sewing machine, to weave the Biblical patterns into wonderful….beautiful patchwork quilts. Patchwork Quilting was her favorite hobby, and she often gave them away as gifts to less fortunate people in the small Mississippi town of Brandon, where I grew up. She routinely held quilting parties for the senior ladies of the small-town community on many a Saturday afternoon. And, by far, was the strongest pillar in the community and often helped others down on their luck by gifting money, time, or offering free meals after Sunday School and Church Service on Sunday.

Prior to founding TRU-SPOT Technologies….My tenure in Human Resources spans more than 20 years. Previous employers include 7 years tenure with Mid-South Baking Company as Executive in charge of the Human Resources Division. During my tenure at Mid-South, my responsibilities included strategic planning, design, and overall administration of Mid South’s Human Resources functions. While managing two divisions in the states of Mississippi & Texas, it was imperative to maintain knowledge of industry standards, trends and company certification/compliance with federal, state and local employment legislation. At Mid-South, I was tasked with providing leadership - ensuring the organization’s human capital matched its needs, maintaining the appropriate talent to accurately support Mid South’s mission and values. I continually made reviews and recommendations for improvement of Mid South’s policies, procedures, personnel opportunities, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and in support of continuous improvement initiatives. My Federal Government and Military tenures include prior service with the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller and corporate trainer, as well as Recruiting Office Manager with the United States Air Force.
