My sister and I were amazed as she used a needle and thread, as well as an old Singer sewing machine, to weave the Biblical patterns into wonderful….beautiful patchwork quilts. Patchwork Quilting was her favorite hobby, and she often gave them away as gifts to less fortunate people in the small Mississippi town of Brandon, where I grew up. She routinely held quilting parties for the senior ladies of the small-town community on many a Saturday afternoon. And, by far, was the strongest pillar in the community and often helped others down on their luck by gifting money, time, or offering free meals after Sunday School and Church Service on Sunday.
