Central Functions, SSC Management Accounts, Virgin Media • Part of a team that looks after the central functions operating expenditure for Virgin Media• I perform a variety of daily, monthly and quarterly tasks to tight deadlines, in order to execute the day-to-day financial accounting process’s, take full ownership for my assigned areas of the company’s P&L and meet my stakeholders’ expectations. • Present back my month-on-month analysis on the EBITDA call, each month end, to internal senior finance members and partners within the business.• Responsible for allocating the funds we pay to our external suppliers, by preparing various journals and reviewing the accruals & budgets to identify areas of cost savings and improvements for the business.• Carry out numerous balance sheet reconciliations in order to ensure accuracy in both the P&L and our accruals, with constant reflection on automation improvements.• Conduct my own internal audit, by collecting evidence and performing various substantive tests, within the form of completing various Sox controls & Audit assurance reviews monthly.

Loss Prevention • Analysing and identifying stock loss on a daily basis, across the whole estate; ultimately playing a crucial role in protecting the profits of one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK.• Responsible for producing a high volume of reports, delivering accurate and timely results, successfully meeting tight weekly deadlines, under a pressured, fast- paced environment.• Liaise with numerous departments, operators, senior business leaders and be able to answer daily questions from a network of 497 supermarkets; to help provide key understanding into the figures and to facilitate key business decisions.• Assist in building budgets for key financial metrics, monitor capex and produce periodic forecasts to enable business managers to understand the implications of current loss/financial risk.• Proactively improve business processes to either provide more efficient stakeholder insight or remove wasted effort.

• Responsible for running weekly, global payment runs on to the bank, dealing with multiple currencies of high value and completing weekly reconciliations• Accountable for ensuring all relevant checks, coding and approvals have been obtained for hundreds of invoices weekly and confirming any adjustments in balances paid to suppliers.• In charge of reviewing and finalising all corporate card expenditure submitted by Employees on a weekly basis, ensuring adherence to in-country legislation. • In control of chasing missing invoices for assigned suppliers, as well as assisting the rest of the team and working with Finance Operations to ensure clear position at month end.
