Will joined Deloitte on the Consulting graduate scheme in September 2005 after completing his undergraduate degree. Will sits within the Programme Leadership service area where he specialises in designing and delivering programme management within the global major events industry. He has spent the last four years working on the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Football World Cup. He spent the first three years at Deloitte specialising in Operational Excellence, delivering process and change management within the broadcasting industry. His clients have included the two biggest television broadcasters in the UK, a large national newspaper publisher, a large regional newspaper publisher, the largest electronic company in the world as well as in national government. Will is also Lean Six Sigma qualified to Green Belt level. He is a trained facilitator.

Doha, Qatar

Located in Doha, Qatar, Will was responsible for designing, implementing and training staff in programme management processes for the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, which is responsible for the planning and delivery of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar ™. These processes include planning, risk and issue management, reporting, governance, change management, quality and knowledge management. He was responsible for presenting fortnightly progress against the delivery of Committee strategic objectives and financial reporting to the Secretary General. Will was also responsible for designing and agreeing the eleven year strategic roadmap to deliver the World Cup.

Will was seconded out to the organising committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a Programme Assurance Manager within the central Planning and Programme Management function. He worked with all functional areas of LOCOG to deliver the Lifetime Business Plan (‘The Operational Bible for the Games’, The Times). Will was responsible for designing and delivering the programme management practices for the Committee, including reporting progress to the CEO level and senior members of the UK government and International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee. He was responsible for reporting to the UK Prime Minister on readiness to deliver the Olympic Torch Relay. He also managed the design and provided programme management of two of the main organisation governance forums – working closely with the LOCOG Chairman and the LOCOG Chief Executive Officer. During the Games, will was responsible for helping run the Olympic Tennis Tournament at Wimbledon and Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Tournament at Eton Manor (Olympic Park), managing a team of around 40 Games Makers (volunteers).
