During this 9 month placement, I worked in a fast paced product innovation company based in Bath. As part of a small design team, I had first hand experience of working with clients on a range of exciting briefs, from the start to end of the design process.

As product development intern, I worked in a small team that developed and produced a range of soft toys for the European, Middle Eastern and African markets. My responsibilities included ensuring that our products were compliant with Disney standards. This was achieved through utilising a range of film and TV artwork and by communicating with illustrators. I used Photoshop and Illustrator to manipulate and edit samples in order to visualise modifications we wanted factories to implement. I also helped organise and set up distributor shows where we develop a relationship with buyers across Europe.

As course ambassador, I provide information and guidance to prospective design students. This role requires me to maintain an in depth knowledge on every detail of the product design courses so that I can give a well informed insight into the course and the university. I have travelled to London and Manchester to help run the Nottingham Trent stall at design university fairs.

My role involved assisting and advising customers, handling money, conducting customer satisfaction research and serving on checkouts.

This position involved engaging with students who have a passion for art and design and encouraging them to participate in the Fine Art Collective. This was done at fairs where I would help present the main stand and present to art students the benefits of the brand.
