Responsible for working with the engineering contractor to ensure the design of a 160 KBCPD Extraction Plant meets the approved scope of work, and conforms to the company process and safety specifications and standards. Responsible for organizing discipline design reviews and control quality of deliverables.Responsible for liaising with Safety, Construction, Operations & Commissioning project personnel, with regard to process matters, to ensure that Safety, Constructability and Operational input are introduced and managed within final design. Responsible for following-up on the progress of the contractor process engineering work in accordance with the project scope, schedule and procedures .Responsible for liaising with relevant head office specialists to coordinate derogation requests or technical support. Responsible for analyzing risk and opportunities within the process discipline and instigate avoidance and mitigation activities jointly with the engineering contractor. Responsible for identifying innovative methods of improving design in order to provide better value for the project. Responsible for mentoring and providing leadership to a group of 4 process engineers and 1 safety engineer.(included 5 discipline engineers as well for part of the time)Responsible for coordinating the Extraction input into the Regulatory Amendment.

Responsible for working with the engineering contractor to ensure the design, of the hydrotreating units for a proposed 250000 barrel a day Upgrader, was safe and operable through such activities as PFD, P&ID and Hazop reviews. Responsible for interfacing with Licensors and other Total technical resources to provide design recommendations to the Project team.Responsible for supporting the environmental regulatory process, by responding to information requests and supporting the regulatory hearing process.

Responsible for coordinating Upgrading production and shutdown schedule business plan input. Responsible for mentoring and advising the area operations engineers. Responsible for advising Upgrading management on technical issues. Responsible for coordinating Upgrading responses to technical requests from other strategy areas. Chaired the Process Engineering sub committee which performed such functions as facilitating process engineering moves within the company, developing yearly curriculum for process engineering training courses and managing process engineering recruiting.

Responsible for developing and stewarding to commissioning/ start up schedules, as well as, workforce plans for 1 greenfield hydrotreater and 1 greenfield hydrogen plant , as well sa providing support to 3 revamped hydrotreaters.Responsible for ensuring the technical deliverables, such as unit monitoring tools and target sheets, were completed.Responsible for approving technical decisions and deviations. Responsible for managing technical start up support.

Responsible for assisting operations with the troubleshooting of short term and long term operational issues, as well as, the optimization of the unit.Responsible for being the technical lead for the unit shutdown and start ups. This role entailed providing technical input into unit decisions, scheduling technical support for the outage and mentoring other shutdown support.
