About Will Wilkinson
Lecturer in the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Surrey.Locum veterinary surgeon with several years prior experience of full-time first opinion small animal practice.Reserve Army Officer- RAVC.RCVS Council Member- RCVS responsibilities revolve around protecting animal health and welfare, such as through setting and upholding veterinary standards. At present there are a number of issues which threaten the Profession's (and thus the RCVS's) ability to continue delivering this, including recruitment and retention. Please contact me for my views and/or to share your own.Beekeeper- I run 'Wilco's Bees', a provider of beekeeping services, local honey and hive products, educational talks and advice on biodiversity and sustainability.I am passionate about the food chain, animal welfare and how sustainability and conservation can go hand in hand with food production. With several years experience in full time clinical veterinary work, I work part-time in the University of Surrey's School of Veterinary Medicine Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences and have lectured elsewhere on sustainability and conservation/science communication. Prior to my studies I spent a year as an activity instructor and am qualified to instruct sailing and paddlesports.Outside of work I have range of interests- please see my profile below.
