With over 20 years of dedicated service in the NHS, I have ascended from a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant to becoming the Trust's first Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) Matron and Clinical Manager. My extensive experience spans managing various departments, including Theatre, Endoscopy, Day Surgery, and Pre-Assessment, where I have consistently focused on enhancing operational efficiency and patient care.A key achievement in my career has been the development and implementation of the 6-4-2 (minus 1) scheduling model in Endoscopy and Theatres, which has significantly improved utilization rates. I am committed to fostering collaboration within the healthcare community, exemplified by my links with Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP). Additionally, I actively participate in the National Performance Group, where we share learning and development of best practices throughout the NHS.As a compassionate leader, I take pride in celebrating team successes and highlighting individual contributions. I encourage my colleagues to pursue their professional development, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.I recently been elected as a trustee for the AfPP, where I continue to advocate for education and best practices in perioperative environment. This starts in January 2025.Currently working with the Llantrisant Health Park team and developing the new outpatient theatres and orthopaedic centre, Clinical diagnostic centre( Endoscopy, MRI,CT,Ultrasound and Endoscopy academy) and two orthopaedic day wards to support day arthroplasty (Hips and Knees).
