Hi! My name is Will. I'm a journalist based in New York.I write, in the broadest sense, about the things I'm curious about. In this way, my stories almost always begin with a hunch: if it's interesting to me, if I'm curious and want to know more, maybe you will, too. I like to write about people— people who come from, and those who walk, different lives than I do. I've written about 'Guerilla gardeners' and Stanley Cup winning goaltenders. About sitcom writers and professional poets. About besieged community activists and besieging community developers. About newscasters and oral historians and quarterbacks and film directors and film festival organizers. I've written about myself, once, and in that process found I'm much more comfortable telling other people's stories. Writing is my first passion. Photography and filmmaking is my second. My photojournalism has been published alongside several of my stories in print and online— including with 'Little Boxes on the Hillside,' which won a 1st place feature writing award from the Society of Professional Journalists. I've also produced several short documentary and docu-fiction films, which have screened and won awards at festivals such as River Run International, Tampa Bay Latin, and Trinity. In 2023, I graduated from Wake Forest University with an Interdisciplinary Degree in Journalism and Film and Phi Beta Kappa Honors. Now back home in New York, I work by day as an intern with the New York Post and by night as a production assistant with Madison Square Garden. If you tilt your head and squint, it kind of looks like my degree in practice; if it doesn't, your head isn't tilted enough.
