Verve Consulting Ltd.: Verve Consulting Limited is a small consulting firm based in Calgary. On occasion, I have been offered the opportunity to assist with their operations. Typically, I would assist with IT-based jobs with other small oil and gas companies in downtown Calgary. Having the opportunity to work with Verve on occasion provided me with opportunities to expand my professional network and gain marginal experience working in the energy sector in Calgary.

Sunterra WestMarket: I started out at Sunterra WestMarket working as a courtesy clerk. Over my nearly five years at Sunterra I was able to work my way up to the level of junior team lead. My promotion to JTL at Sunterra provided me with the opportunity to attain new, and hone old skills in the marketing and sales field. My job at Sunterra had many responsibilities, with some being transferrable to the marketing and sales field. These include personability, sales practice and techniques, customer service and relations, intrapersonal relationships, and leadership skills. Being promoted to JTL meant that I was the one who would be welcoming our new hires, run them through a short history of the company and what our values were, provide an in-depth tour of the store, and introduce them to other at the store, all of this done to ensure a smooth transition of new hires into the workplace. Customer service become another more important skill when I was promoted to JTL, as I was now tasked with handling customer complaints and comments. These and many other additional responsibilities allowed me to develop the skills listed above.
