Senior HSE/DOT Safety Specialist September 2014 to February 2014Baker Hughes Inc. –Western GEO Market As the Senior DOT Specialist for the Western GEO Market, I was charged with doing all the on ground audits and analysis of the FMCSA data, CSA composite score and SMS raw data, of all the Western Locations for BHI. The Western GEO Market consists of North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado Utah, New Mexico, California and Alaska. I physically inspected all the terminals in a FMCSA audit format in the Western GEO market, and with the nuances of the BIT inspection for California. From the results of the data derived from the audits, I developed training for managers and drivers to address pointed deficiencies as well as overall strategies’ to drive down and keep the CSA score as low as possible.My duties included, holding in person and webinar based weekly driver’s trainings across the GEO Market, as well as advise upper management on trends developing in the transportation industry such as MAP21 requirements, Electronic Log implementation. I monitored MVR’s for Western GEO (and Pull Notice in California) daily, Drivers training records, DVIR’s, log books, status maintenance and progress against violations and HM Cargo Tank terminals requirements. I acted as the face from our comkpany for all regulatory conferences and meetings with CVSA, FMCSA and CHP to keep up with current regulatory changes.RAIR log monitoring and JJ Keller DQ monitoring were the systems I used daily to keep apprised of drivers progress toward zero deficiencies. Microsoft Office is what I used and relied on to perform my daily communication, spreadsheet and data base requirements.

As a Motor Carrier Specialist, my work consisted of auditing and grading commercial trucking, busing and hazardous materials operations. This wass accomplished by in depth physical inspection of equipment, evaluation maintenance practices, review of the companies policies and required documentation retained by the carrier at the carrier's facilities. California Vehicle Code, California Code of Regulations-Title 13, Code of Federal Regulations-Title 49, BOE and California Highway Patrol Policy contained in HPM 84.1 are the primary reference documents for all actions conducted. I assisted the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) as an associate investigator, with cases in Coastal Division and in Northern Division. I have conducted in depth mechanical inspections for the CHP Santa Cruz Area and testified in court as an expert witness in a felony prosecution case. I assisted as an instructor in the formation of the highly effective farm labor enforcement unit, S.A.F.E. I am currently certified as a USDOT New Entrant Safety Audit Program (NESAP) auditor and have participated as an instructor in initial DOT NESAP training for CHP auditors. In CHP Northern Division, I have assisted the NESAP coordinator by scheduling audits for all the units’ auditors, as needed. I have worked as an MCS 1 in Golden Gate Division, Coastal Division, Central Division, Northern Division and Border Division. I have developed, planned effective processes to, and have executed the organized clean-up of work backlog (BIT, Bus and Hazmat and Database) to current above 95% in 4 divisions for 19+ years. I have traveled extensively statewide to accomplish my assignments, as needed. I have over the years, as a certified instructor, taught numerous classes to units of the CHP and to industry on all aspects of safety compliance.
