Willard S. Evans, Jr. is an award-winning, dynamic and progressive leader. With nearly 40 years of experience in Strategic Planning, Operations, Engineering, Construction, Large Infrastructure projects and Major IT system implementations, Mr. Evans has been in senior leadership for over 20 years. He is the former President of Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, regulated natural gas utilities now owned by WEC Energy Group. Since retirement from Peoples Gas, Will has been an energy and engineering consultant and has increased his participation on various boards. He is open to board positions with an organization that values diversity and responsible decision making.Will had been responsible for providing leadership for managers and employees and is responsible for implementation of corporate initiatives and operational plans. Noticed by his employees for his "fair and approachable" demeanor, Will understands that a rising tide raises all ships. He placed emphasis on understanding how to develop the talent of his team. In 2013, Will lead the passage of the Natural Gas Consumer, Safety, and Reliability Act. This critical legislation supports one of the most capital-intensive infrastructure projects in the country. Also, he lead the creation of a school (a partnership among City Colleges of Chicago, Peoples Gas and its Gas Workers Union) where veterans and displaced workers are being trained to be utility workers.Will is a proud alumnus of Northwestern University, St. Ignatius College Prep and Inroads Inc.
