As an early-stage startup with both physical and cloud-based assets, Will worked as part of the Site Reliability team to ensure high performance and scalability as myList experienced significant peaks and valleys in customer demand during their short tenure. Maximizing performance while minimizing expenses to preserve cash runway were critical performance metrics during this stage for myList.

As the Manager of IT and Teleradiology, I led a team of developers in delivering mission critical apps and in providing production support. Our motto was “deliver quickly, reliably and consistently to our customer”. Key technologies included Visual Studio, Java, jquery, LogiXML on Windows and Linux platforms virtualized in our own data centers and in the Amazon EC2 cloud. Database platforms include MS SQL server, MySQL, and Firebird.While at Imaging Advantage, I worked with my team to bring Key Metric Analysis applications from concept to production and into business operations by not only delivering the application to our customers, but engaging in their day-to-day operations to understand how the metrics measured can improve their business. Other key applications developed included a .Net based Quality Assurance application and Customer portal.

Focused on application support and end to end monitoring, my team of highly skilled engineers were measured by application availability and response time for 150+ custom applications serving 400,000+ users. Our mix of supported applications consisted of Windows, Linux, and Java on traditional hardware as well as public and private clouds.Our team served as the final escalation point for the IT services division of the company and was the liaison between production and development branches. High level responsibilities of the team consisted of monitoring and correcting deviations in availability and response time and detecting trends necessary for proactive capacity management. With patient lives on the line, our 40 person team located on 3 continents provided round the clock support for our hospital network in routing clinical images from our customers to our radiologists. Duties included troubleshooting image work flow issues from client hospitals through internal systems and delivery to radiologists as well as traditional corporate IT services and managing day to day IT operations.Through implementation of productivity metrics we were able to adjust staffing to better handle volume during peak times, as well as compensate my team with time off during lower call volumes. Metrics also provided valuable insight into underlying core issues which are being identified and resolved.Due to the improvements in work flow management, communication, skills identification and SLA monitoring, I was able to provide a consistent level of support to internal and external customers while taking on additional responsibilities of support for my team.
