I have recently finished my Masters from the University of Sheffield, being awarded a First-Class Distinction with a special commendation from the SSoA climate committee for evidencing innovation in sustainable design in a contextually responsive manner. My thesis project was the result of a critical reflection on the current imperfections in architectural education, aiming to provide an alternative pathway to become an Architect that places an emphasis on the act of physical construction at a variety of scales. This tactile method of design has become integral to my personal practice, from hand drawn sketch iterations to full scale construction of habitable spaces. My part one experience (18 Months) was in a newly established office of an already reputable firm, Bennetts Associates, this allowed me to work on projects ranging from master planning and infrastructural design to stage 03 detailed design of a small children’s theatre. My position as part of a four-person team required me to work with a high level of autonomy and freedom whilst also providing crucial support for the day-to-day management of the office.
