My role takes components all the way from RFQ and conceptual packaging through to validation and sign off on vehicle (including regulatory and consumer testing performance).At Arrival I spend a lot of time working across function with other stakeholders to build the best subsystems possible. A lot of the engineering I conduct is from first principles establishing the initial DFMEA, system engineering and test specifications for safety components. -
Lead Engineer (Seat Belts And Child Restraints)Jaguar Land Rover Mar 2017 - Sep 2021United KingdomI delivered the seat belt and child restraint system for two electric vehicle programmes before leading the same commodity for a new vehicle architecture using Agile project management techniques. I was responsible for: packaging, legislative support, attribute performance, design verification, part function, design for manufacture, DFMEA and cost management.Key Achievements:-Delivered electric vehicle programme, including: RFQ creation, product integration, virtual series, VP build support, testing and validation, product industrialisation, APQP and homologation processes.-All parts delivered compliant to latest legislation and consumer testing requirements, including Euro and US NCAP.-Child restraints delivered to ADR, FMVSS and UN ECE specifications through robust product development, testing and handbook authoringI also did side projects looking at Quality and Warranty issues (using DMAIC techniques), model year refreshes affecting various safety components including airbags, seat belt and knee bolsters and finally overall frontal restraint performance in real world crash testing. -

As a TVM engineer I worked from idea generation, project engineering, through to logistics and quality on each project individually, I am was also trained to use NX and design in CAD when required. -
