Product Owner for Off Cycle Restraints (seat belts , airbags and child seats)- Managing product backlog with key stakeholders to ensure that all potential projects are recorded, aligned to strategic direction and prioritised accordingly in the Backlog- Working as an engineer developing Body of Knowledge artefacts such as ; requirements, DFMEA, Bill of Design etc. - Escalation and technical problem resolution for complex technical issues- Working to establish a roadmap and develop new technologies so that they are ready for implementation on vehicle programmes to meet customer, market OR regulatory demand- Supporting new vehicle programme engineers with technical issues around restraints- Ensuring smooth day to day squad operation with a view to always trying to improve using the Agile project management process (squad of 10)

Leading the engineering development of Arrival CAR restraint system including steering wheel, seat belts and airbags and their integration into the wider vehicle. My role takes components all the way from RFQ and conceptual packaging through to validation and sign off on vehicle (including regulatory and consumer testing performance).At Arrival I spend a lot of time working across function with other stakeholders to build the best subsystems possible. A lot of the engineering I conduct is from first principles establishing the initial DFMEA, system engineering and test specifications for safety components.

I delivered the seat belt and child restraint system for two electric vehicle programmes before leading the same commodity for a new vehicle architecture using Agile project management techniques. I was responsible for: packaging, legislative support, attribute performance, design verification, part function, design for manufacture, DFMEA and cost management.Key Achievements:-Delivered electric vehicle programme, including: RFQ creation, product integration, virtual series, VP build support, testing and validation, product industrialisation, APQP and homologation processes.-All parts delivered compliant to latest legislation and consumer testing requirements, including Euro and US NCAP.-Child restraints delivered to ADR, FMVSS and UN ECE specifications through robust product development, testing and handbook authoringI also did side projects looking at Quality and Warranty issues (using DMAIC techniques), model year refreshes affecting various safety components including airbags, seat belt and knee bolsters and finally overall frontal restraint performance in real world crash testing.

I was responsible for reviewing designs and engineering steering wheels and driver’s airbags on all future vehicle models, conducting any problem solving that was required throughout the development process.As Programme Module Sub Team leader I lead a cross functional team to support new vehicle programmes, whether it be carrying over or developing new steering wheels and driver's airbag.

Engineer on the AML graduate scheme within the TVM (Total Value Management) team reporting to the Purchasing department.My role harnessed both engineering and commercial skills to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities on current and future vehicles, I also started working towards chartered engineer status.I went on rotation for 6 months into Safety (PD) and Launch (Quality) Engineering commencing in January 2016. I have already completed a placement within Product Cost Estimation (PCE) where I looked after interior trim PMSTs.My role is focused on interior and exterior trim components, I am led a PMST investigating interior fabrics and championed 5S in addition to my cost down role. I have successfully completed several cost down projects and implemented them on car. As a TVM engineer I worked from idea generation, project engineering, through to logistics and quality on each project individually, I am was also trained to use NX and design in CAD when required.

I was a student ambassador working for Loughborough SOAR and a variety of tasks including:Open daysDepartment tours and student Q&AsUniversity experience visits (years 9-13)This role often involved; independent work, working to a tight schedule and representing the university to a range of audiences.

Year in Industry Placement (13 months) within the techinical laboratory.I was responsible for 2 projects, one looking at technical and cosmetic cleanliness within vehicle assembly and the other involving control of preventative maintenance within the Mini paintshop.Day to day work consisted of ADHOC jobs involving; materials characterisation, failure analysis, new part qualification and routine testing for BMW and Rolls Royce. During my placement I also participated business improvement (VPS) and purchasing activities.

I was elected by my peers to control my university halls' budget, as treasurer I was responsible for collecting hall subs in a clear and fair manner off 400 students. I was also responsible for; ensuring this money was spent on appropriate events and items, keeping the books up to date and being part of a larger hall committee team responsible for organising and caring for new students.
