I'm a guy who loves Jesus, my beautiful wife, and my wonderful daughters.Professionally, I love programming in F#! In my last position at Custom Fabricating and Repair, over the last couple of years, I built a full desktop CRUD application from design to a beta state, using F#, C#, Wpf for the GUI,EntityFramework Core for interacting with a Made 2 Manage SqlServer Database. I first built it in an Object Oriented style, then in the middle of development switched to a more functional and procedural approach, as much as I could. I rewrote most of the application in F#, and saw first hand the incredible benefit of the switch. The code was more concise, easier to understand, much easier to change when a change needed to be made, and generally was a much better application afterwards.I also did a ton of work in automating creation of parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor. What I'm most proud of are things I called Smart Parts. Using iLogic, I created configurable parts that would cover a whole basic type like Pipe,Tube, or Reducer. With a simple, easy to understand gui, you could make that same part type change itself into one with a different size, or material, or polish, etc. It would automatically populate the BOM in Inventor with the proper part number that corresponded to ItemMaster records in our Made2Manage database. I hadn't seen anyone do it like this before, but I would store all the object size and dimensions for the various specifications in a json string that was hidden in the properties of the part file. I love building valuable solutions for people, and am open and looking for more work!
