Somika SA- Occupational Health and Safety Manager at the Mali mine. From 01August 2016 to current . Implement the Occupational Health and Safety system to Somika SA staff and contractors. Develop training material, train the trainers and manage training activities. In terms of Somika SA project I manage the Occupational Health and Safety. This is a brown field project of U$XXXX for the construction and of the new open pit mine. It is my responsibility to ensure compliance with the provisions of the local government and best practices. Duties include the following but are not limited to it:*Accident / Incident investigation *Audits *Ensure method statements and risk assessments comply with the standard. * Do surveys and inspections.* Occupational Health and Safety client representative with contractors.*Cover for absent colleagues

Appointed as SHE Manager EPCM for the Black Rock Expansion Plan at Assmang Manganese, N-Cape South Africa a ZAR 6 Billion construction project. It is my responsibility to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Mine, Health and Safety act, Occupational Health and Safety act, MHSA Regulations and the Minerals Act Regulations. It is also my responsibility to observe and enforce any codes of practise; any instructions, procedures, directive, permissions, exemptions etc. issued by the Director of Mines / Chief Inspector. Also to provide and maintain a working environment, that is safe and without risk to the Health of employees within my area ofresponsibilities.My responsibility includes all construction activities. Currently we have 7 construction companies with a total of 410 employees on site. This will soon increase to 1300 employees with 18 Safety persons reporting to me as EPCM representative.

Appointed as SHE Manager Liberia responsible for two departments one in Yekepa and one in Buchannan. Responsibility includes a running plant with open cast mining and 265 km rail transport. This includes port activities. All Environmental staff report to me. Two private hospitals with four doctors is part of my responsibilities In total a department of 108 persons. My responsibility includes all construction activities. Currently ArcelorMittal employed 3000 employees including contractors. This will soon increase to 6000 employees.

Appointment as SHE Manager Zambia responsible for Safety, Health and Environment in Zambia. This includes Open pit Copper mining, Construction, Buildings, Engineering maintenance and Infrastructure. This was a short term contract.

This project incorporate 23 Principal Contractors and 58 Safety Staff, full time on the Construction site.The complement on site is an average of 5000 employees. Apart from the Main site, Kumba is alsobuilding 720 houses with another 1000 employees and 24 Safety Officers

I work as acting HSE Manager for Kumba Iron Ore, Sishen South Project in South Africa. This is a green project that has had $ 1 Billion invested in the construction of the new mine with a life span of 20 years. It is my responsibility to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Mine, Health and Safety act, Occupational Health and Safety act, MHSA Regulations and the Minerals Act Regulations. Responsible for the Safety functions of Lichtenburg Works, including Lovedale and Tswana Lime Quarries in terms of Regulations 2.19.1 to 2.19.6.2 inclusive (Minerals Act) Responsible for the security function.- Staff functions as an advisor at Hennenman Works, Kaalfontein and Industria in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.- Responsible for occupational hygiene at Lichtenburg Works.- Provide NOSA approved Safety Training.- All Safety Administration.- Safety Audits.- Report to the Inspector of Mines in terms of Regulation 2.19 (accidents).- Loss Control trainer reports directly to myself.- Manage the safety aspects of all construction and concrete extensions.
