• Establishing and leading a fully Integrated Solar EPC, key activities included: - Managing the end-to-end delivery of >140 commercial solar projects, across South Africa, Botswana and Zambia, covering rooftop-to-ground and tracking systems, grid-tied and off-grid solutions, approaching 22 MWp in total. Of these, 40 projects included Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS).- Sales and feasibility analysis including financial modelling of proposed projects, cashflow profiling, NPV, IRR and payback period. Typical customer IRR of circa 25%, on projects taken forward. Track record in closing deals.- Working with a financial partner to provide Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) solutions for customers, in addition to traditional customer financed delivery options.- Installation and early state operation oversight, including procurement and vendor management, on-site supervision of Sunranch and contract engineers, budget forecasting and controls, customer relationship management. Typically, multiple projects under management at any one time.- Grid connection oversight, ensuring net metering/meter banking is delivered in line with Eskom (grid operator) and regulatory requirements. Developed and implemented policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable grid, regulatory and HSE requirements.- Securing and managing third party accreditation, including vendors (Huawei, Atess, Lithium Valley Longi, SMA, JA-Solar and Canadian Solar), financial institutions (Standard Bank, Nedbank, ABSA, Investec, FNB and Sasfin) and other non-governmental organisations (South African Photovoltaic Industry Association, PV Green Card, Green Building Council of South Africa).- Established panel trading and battery storage installation departments, recently commissioning Sunranch’s first industrial scale battery energy storage solution and establishing a PPA offering for new customers. - Build relationships with suppliers in China, Germany, and the US.

• Part of Barclays’ Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) compliance department for its African operations (16 Countries), responsibilities included:- Development and delivery of ABC training courses for banking staff across the region, focusing on new UK regulations that apply to Barclays’ activities in the region. - Leading specific investigations including:o Fraudulent attempts to secure capital project financing, via attempted bribery.o Tracing complex networks of cross-border money transfers, as well as reviewing KYC and transfer approvals.o Criminal activity, looking to influence banking operations for financial gain.- Working with Barclays’ regional manager and internal audit teams to establish action plans, new procedures, and additional controls in response to the investigations above.- Establishing compliance policies and procedures, implemented across all Barclays African operational staff in the region. Established a whistle-blowing process and procedure, working closely with HR and legal staff.

- Investigating procurement, collusion and bidding fraud in major capital projects.- Forensic analysis of cash spend in high cost engineering projects, identifying several instances of complex vendor fraud schemes as well as anomalous stocktake and inventory controls.
