• Assisting student with registration and other academic maters.• General academic planning• Evaluating and development of Biodiversity teaching curriculums including benchmarking with other teaching institutions.• Compiling bibliographies and familiarising myself with the latest developments in my teaching and research field.• Preparing and delivering of lectures, tutorials and practical laboratory sessions for under-graduate student courses.• Lecturing and conducting practical sessions for post-graduates (Honours) in parasitology and aquatic research methodology and supervising them in their research projects.• Supervising and training of postgraduate students (MSc and PhD).• Preparing and marking of examinations, tests and assignments.• Moderating external test and exam papers for other institutions.• Attending workshops and training sessions on teaching, research and community engagement matters.• Managing of research funds budget and procurement of research equipment and consumables.• Research - Developing of research projects. Logistical planning of field surveys. Execute research surveys according to accepted methodologies. Collecting sediment and water samples using a variety of methods and equipment. Conduct aquatic biomonitoring studies using mainly macroinvertebrates, fish and fish parasites (community structure and ecotoxicology). Collecting of endo- and ectoparasites from a variety of hosts. Identifying of parasites by staining and microscopy where applicable. Data analysis and interpretation of results. Writing of scientific reports and peer reviewed scientific papers in English.• Serving as the chairperson of the departmental research committee.• Building collaborations with specialists from other institutions including those from other disciplines.• Attending and presenting research at national and international conferences.• Involved in community engagement projects involving local communities and schools.
