Part of the innovation team primarily working in data analysis and software (using a variety of Python, MATLAB and SQL) to aid the development of axial-flux electric motors. This includes being involved with dyno testing and the post-processing of the results to report on motor performance characteristics, NVH and other research.Also involved in developing the toolchain to aid the Simulation teams' motor modelling and design processes, as well as assisting various other teams with ad-hoc analysis of motor results such as on the End-of-Line tester.3-month Inverter Software Placement - Undertook a 3-month placement in the Inverter Software team. This involved building a HIL rig with a Speedgoat, taking responsibility for both software and hardware setup. Other tasks involve developing features on the Inverter's control software using MATLAB/Simulink, as well as validating inverter behaviour using CANape.

● Software Validation – Testing ECM/ECU software using an NI-based HIL testbench with Veristand, CANalyzer and other in-house applications.● Software Development – Created a prototype and developed my own software using Python to automate test procedures and outputting of the results. It has reduced the time to test software by between 30% and 50% depending on the use case. Still continuously being developed further to reduce the need for human input.● Electronics – Built various wiring harnesses for 24V systems to connect new features to our test bench, including recently building a harness to connect the new remote control systems to the existing harness. I also built a new harness to be able to adapt our test bench to work with a different vehicle and different ECM’s to our current harness.

● Data and Statistics – Developed a model of train traffic in which different braking systems can be tested using Python and outputted into Excel.● Academic database search tool – Spotted an opportunity to create and develop a tool using Python and VBA to reduce the time taken by researchers to search for large queries across multiple academic databases.● Vehicle Technology – Assisted with the calibration of TRL’s Pavement Friction Tester (PFT).
