In 2019 Challenger diversified its portfolio via acquisition of interests in high quality gold/silver and gold/copper mining assets in Argentina and Ecuador. Challenger continues to pursue its interests in the emerging, world-scale shale gas province in South Africa's Karoo Basin. I led an international team to progress Challenger's unique position in the Karoo. The role covered investor relations, capital raising, stakeholder management (South African and Australian government agencies, ministries and local governments, industry associations, interested and affected parties in South Africa, prospective investors and JV partners), setting strategic direction and portfolio management.

New start-up developing Concentrated Solar Power in Edge of Grid and Off Grid markets where diesel generation is currently the only viable option. CRV is developing a lower cost hybrid CSP model to displace significant diesel consumption in the mining and resources sector.

Eureka Energy Limited (ASX: EKA) - an ASX listed oil & gas exploration and development company with an interest in the Sugarloaf Area of Mutual Interest, located centrally within the Sugarkane Gas & Condensate Field onshore in southeast Texas, USA.As CEO, I worked on the takeover defence following the offer made by Aurora Oil & Gas Limited (ASX:AUT) in May 2012. Eureka was subsequently acquired by Aurora in a recommended On-Market Takeover Offer for A$107m in early July 2012. Aurora was acquired by Baytex Energy Corporation in June 2014.

Led Jakarta based team to deliver growth opportunities for BP’s Exploration & Production business in Asia Pacific. Instrumental in securing potentially World first CBM to LNG project (Sanga Sanga in Kalimantan). Secured multiple conventional and unconventional PSCs in Kalimantan & West Papua.

Commercialised BP’s interests related to the Gorgon LNG project. Developed and executed strategy to secure multi-hundred $m value by unitising Io/Jansz field, negotiating arrangements for BP to lift its equity share of LNG production on advantageous terms, and securing enhanced terms for commercialisation of BP interests in future development of satellite fields.

GM & shareholder representative for the ~$30bn Browse JV LNG project. Influenced concept selection of the project to a sustainable development with indigenous engagement. Identified opportunities to grow BP’s interest in the Browse Basin and farmed into additional JV. Developed E&P strategy for BP in Asia Pacific.

GM & shareholder representative for all BP upstream JVs in Australia. Accountable for safety, production, marketing, strategy, profitability, investment sanction & budget approval.Secured BP investment in LNG expansion at NWS; Renewed key expiring Japanese foundation LNG contracts on enhanced terms; Closed landmark A$25bn NWS LNG sale to China.

Led & managed all aspects of multi-$’00m global divestments; structuring & negotiating deals and securing BP approvals.Led successful divestment of Burmah Castrol’s chemicals division;Led divestment of Great Yarmouth Power Ltd (400MW CCGT power station);Co-led divestment of JDA gas project on Thai/Malay border.

Responsible for negotiating gas supply agreements, strategy and bid process for high profile Grangemouth and Baglan Bay power projects. Secured gas supply agreements for each project that remain among the most valuable on a mark-to-market basis in BP’s UK portfolio.

NWSG is the marketing agency established by the NWS Venture to market domestic gas and administer contracts with gas distribution/aggregation companies, electricity producers, industrial customers and gas traders. Currently supplies ca 65% of WA’s domestic gas market.

NWSSSC provides operational, commercial and technical expertise to manage safe, efficient & reliable shipping of NWS Venture LNG to customers, utilising a fleet of nine LNG ships. > 2,400 LNG cargoes delivered since 1989.

NWSLC facilitates the marketing and sales of North West Shelf Australia LNG, via its liaison office in Tokyo, primarily interacting with the major electric and gas companies in Japan.

NWSALNG is the marketing agency established by the NWS Venture to negotiate and administer LNG sales contracts with customers around the world, including Japan, China and South Korea.
