Managed engineering R&D activities associated with sensor- and Artificial Intelligence-based product development. Expanded the company via creation of an R&D engineering office and team in Nashville, TN. Responsible for development, oversight, and expansion of the V5 acoustic "Gunshot Localization System" which is the first self-powered, AI-based gunshot detection system running entirely "on the edge" of the Internet of Things (IoT). Protected company IP through thorough, ongoing patent analyses and patent filings, and acted as a liaison between the engineering and sales teams to ensure that product development, customer needs, and product specifications are aligned.

Created the CDX "Traction Radio Airplay Monitoring System" from the ground up to detect radio airplay by monitoring the many digital audio streams used by radio stations to simulcast their terrestrial radio signals over the Internet. Using a wavelet-based approach to create digital "fingerprints" which represent a temporally-ordered set of characteristic identifiers unique to each and every song processed by the system, the system carries out real-time, live airplay monitoring with a nearly 100% success rate without the use of invasive techniques such as metadata analysis, ID3 tagging, or audio watermarking.

Performed research centered around various distributed and wireless sensor networking paradigms, most notably on high-accuracy localization techniques including novel research using commercial-grade, single-frequency GPS receivers to achieve centimeter-precision relative node localization. Also worked on prototypical systems involving web-based visualization of pollution models from irregularly sampled spatio-temporal observations.

Served on a committee overseeing the allocation and disbursement of Student Activities Fee funding to Vanderbilt University Arts organizations.

Designed and developed HDTV sets for European models of Toshiba's digital televisions. Worked extensively in C and C++ programming languages, with interfacing experience for HDMI, MPEG2, and standard PAL/NTSC video. Gained hands-on involvement with industry-grade Quality Assurance (QA) testing and debugging techniques.

Worked individually as well as in conjunction with a research team of experienced Computer Engineers on new methods of delivering critical information to users in high-stress, highly interactive situations (e.g. flying a plane, navigating underwater with little visibility, etc.), especially through use of a tongue-tactile device that transferred information via electrical pulses to the tongue. Extensive implementation experience in Java, C++, and JNI, as well as in-field testing of experimental modular software agents.
