Led the effort to gift the largest asset of the foundation, Hodges Gardens, to the State of Louisiana. Hodges Gardens was the largest privately-owned botanical garden in the United States. The transaction was completed in 2007. The gift included 1000 acres of land, a 200-acre lake, AJ Hodges' 15,000 SF island home, an 80-acre formal garden and 5 miles of paved roads. Our current focus is moving the foundation from the support and operation of Hodges Gardens towards philanthropic support of local causes of North and West Central Louisiana.
