I was a Senior Manager of a Government Department that focused on personal safety and vital training to promote protection for all members of staff in very intense and aggressive situations. This also concentrated on all aspects of communication and delegation techniques. My main role was to advise and ensure that the Managers and Staff from different environments understood the key aspects, aims and objectives of how to effectively communicate under stressful situations and control intense situations that required a clear and calm thought process.The course construction had to take into account the different cultures, backgrounds and legal requirements to ensure that the training was interesting and beneficial to all individuals. I was responsible for all areas of this training inclusive of the resources required and preparation, through to the successful delivery and completion of the training. This involved dealing and communicating with several different internal departments and also outside agencies.I was appointed as the Training Officer for over 1000 personnel. I now had the responsibility of constructing and controlling short-term training teams and exercises not just within the United Kingdom, but also worldwide. These personnel also had to train organisations outside the British Government in low level to high level specialised skills. I had to develop new extensive skills in negotiating terms and conditions for training teams to work in unfamiliar environments.My career experience and personal learning over the past 27 years has incorporated various roles. I have been fortunate to work in many different countries which in its self has provided me with a greater understanding of the diverse world we live and operate in. Within this timeline I gain valuable experience and specialized in the basics of communication sessions through to more complicated conflict resolution scenarios. Throughout this period I was actively involved as a team leader and had to construct and deliver, (at short notice) training courses that have had to bond and encourage different cultures to work together as a team. With an overall aim to achieve results and acquire specialised skills to further enhanced their knowledge and career development. My experience within our local market place in Northern Ireland has given me the opportunity and responsibility to construct, implement and deliver training to a wide group from the, NIO, Police, Private and Public sectors that also incorporated personal development and management training.
