I work in a cross-functional team, which uses agile methodologies as project management approach. In my role as a Senior Backend Engineer I maintain and develop microservices which store, process, protect and deliver files. I closely collaborate with the project manager in order to plan the next increments and prioritize tasks and topics. I serve as a mentor for Junior and Regular engineers. Also, we hosted several internships in our team which I managed. Recently a apprentice joined our team who is also mentored by me. Teaching others and seeing them grow is as important to me as constantly getting better myself.I also conduct technical interviews for which I created tasks which involve computer science, programming, dev-ops and language specific questions which can be used by other colleagues.For me automated tests and code reviews are crucial for quality. Tests are as important as a good implementation itself. At Staffbase we strive for a high test coverage which I really like. Through code reviews we deliver the best possible code which is only possible by combining our collective knowledge.I was involved in resolving several incidents as domain specialist. Recently I wrote a custom Go application to recover data. With that we we're able to recover 100% of the data lost.

I supervise every step between the first line of code of a Spring Boot backend and Angular frontend and the deployment in a Kubernetes cluster for several of our products.Although I do frontend development too, my main interest and passion lies in backend development.Also, I serve as a mentor for new team members by bringing them up to speed with the technologies we use. I helped with the management and conversion of vehicle specific data. Each deliverer (BMW, VW etc.) sends data to us which associates vehicles, which are identified with a VIN (vehicle identification number), with built-in systems. The problem is that the data formats vary greatly. We receive CSV, TXT, XSLX, XSL, ACCDB, MDBetc. files and our job is to evaluate and standardize the contained information.
